Early 1.6 Injectors Differences To Later Ones?

Recommended Posts

dandelph

Hi have got a early phase 1 with the smaller valve head just blown the head gasket and have changed the gasket and head with a later 1.6 which has slightly bigger valves.

Because the head has bigger valves does this mean the later 1.6 had bigger injectors or did peugeot just up the fuel pressure?

Cheers Dan :D

In the absence of other replies....I understand the injectors are colour-coded according to their output. 1.9s have yellow injectors whereas 1.6s have blue ones. Not familiar with early cars, but would say that if your original injectors are blue, then they will be fine...if another colour; you need blue ones!

The injectors should be the same on early and later models. The extra fuelling is taken care of automatically by the AFM/ECU.

The injectors that are on the car are all black though i do have a set of blue injectors and a later fuel pressure reg,

So if I just set the emissions to what the book says the system should be fine? cheers :)

black injectors are taken from a 306 xsi iirc.

blue are the original ones.
