Strange Wishbone Balljoint

Recommended Posts

GLPoomobile

I've been meaning to ask this for ages, since I removed the original subframe and wishbones from my 205 over a year ago.

When I removed it (originally a 1.6, 89 reg), I noticed one of the wishbones had an odd balljoint on it. I'm used to them having a deep grove around the circumference for the clamp bolt to locate in. This one appeared to be totally smooth at the time, but upon closer inspection tonight I noticed it does have a very small groove for the bolt.

Just thought this was a bit odd and wondered if anyone had seen ones like this before. No idea if it's a pattern part as it's manky as fook so can't see any markings.

the only ones I remember that had joints like these on a 205 were "group N" items with special strengthened balljoints.

Yeah, I agree, it does sound like a group N wishbone / balljoint.

I found one in my stock a while ago & would like to find another to fit the opposite side.

Graham.
