Lean Mixture

Hi I am new on here and new to 205's

Firstly I will give you the spec

205 alloy block mi16 on jenvey throttle bodies with ermerald management FSE power boost valve, stainless exhaust , tbular manifold (not sure if standard although has got re-angling plate). I bought the car in its current form therefore do not know much about how its all set up .

The car passed its MOT on friday with flying colours I have been driving it over the weekend and all is good.

When the emmissions test was done with for the mot the results were as follows

CO 0.64 Limit <3.50

HC 34 limit <1200

I was showing the results to a good friend of mine who suggested it was running very lean i have noticed although the car is very quick the power does seem a bit lathergic in its delivery . the exhaust is alos leaking a bit too i think between manifold and centre section but could possible be at the manifold what effect would this have?

one other thing to mention the car was peviously fitted with Nitrous which had the jets fitted to the itb trumpets i have removed the jets now but havent managed to replace the trumpets so they all have a 12mm hole in them will this have an effect on performace also.

all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

More information needed... Are you running closed loop? Lambda Sensor? Catalytic converter? (I am guessing yes with such a low HC level)

Initial thoughts assuming the above is positive, if exhaust is pulling in air before the lambda sensor could be messing with the fueling?

That would cause to run rich rather than lean, surely? If the lambda sensor is seeing extra O2 then it'll put in fuel to compensate. Would more likely be a hole after the sensor that would make it seem lean.

No cat !!, the MOT guy couldt believe the results

And I am pretty sure the exhaust leak is before the lamda sensor although it isnt blowing excessively.

what does closed loop mean?
