Supercharging A Gti6

Recommended Posts

pugpete1108

i have decided to go in a different direction with my gti6 and instead of using bike bodies i'm gonna try and go supercharged on a std inlet manifold.

firstly is this possible on a std manifold? i would assume so

and secondly roughly what components will i need to get this running?

at a guess i would say charger (obviously) intercooler and associated pipework. mounts (shouldnt be a problem as i ditched the pas on my gti6)

do i need any sort of actuator or such like with a turbo'd car? or does the charger unit do all this?

i wouldn't want to run massive boost so a select choice of pulley size would be in order as the engine is std internally.

lets see how feasable this is (for a tight sod like me  )

sideways danny

can't see an issue with using the stock inlet, should work well as long as it's all an airtight seal.

Boost is controlled with pulley size and intake restriction. What sort of charger are you planning to use?

Its all do-able m8, Cost you a fair few quid though check out the Gti6 forum for this and also theres a thread on here in either the "Projects" or "works" section.

As far as I remember its a bit of a sod in the 205 due to clearance issues between the kit and the lower front apron below the headlight on the o/s and I also think the special inlet manifold that comes with the kit has to be cut down/modified too.

Regards

Tris

i really havent got a clue tbh, but as usual i will learn as i go :(

lots more reading to come i think.

^^^^

i'll have a good look on here tris but i'm not a member on the gti6 forum so that dont help

just read that thread wow thats expensive.

i suppose i naivley though i would be a case of bolting on a charger (roots type i think) and knocking up some pipework. well not quite that easy but you know what i mean :(

still doable
