JimLad 1 Posted October 16, 2009 Got these off MrG ages ago and only just got round to putting them on. Oddly there doesn't seem anything to secure the brake hose to - unlike the cheap unbranded crap that came off! Is that just how they are? Can I just cable tie them to the struts to prevent them coming into contact with the wheel/tyre? Thanks
swordfish210 20 Posted October 16, 2009 I just cabletied mine as you suggested. Worked fine for 2 years until i swapped them for the coilovers
welshpug 1,645 Posted October 16, 2009 got a part number off them? have a feeling they'd be 306/zx/xsara
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted October 16, 2009 All 205 Bilstein damper's unless base model spec have the brake hose fittings on
JimLad 1 Posted October 17, 2009 Miles, are you saying these must have been originally off something else then? As Welshpug says? Why don't the 306 ones have something to secure the hose to? Swordfish, did it pass the MOT like that? Cheers everyone
base-1 17 Posted October 17, 2009 With cable ties, wrap one around the strut, then put another one through that first tie and around the brake hose. If you just tie the pipe to the damper it's an MOT fail.
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted October 17, 2009 306's Use a bracket off the hub
JimLad 1 Posted October 18, 2009 Part numbers VNE 4595 and 6 which makes them Gti-6 ones I believe.
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted October 18, 2009 Any model of 306 from a 1.1 up, the 306's all use the same basic design of damper and wishbone's unlike the 205's
