Ebay Cylinder Heads Recon

Hi

Has any body used the guy off ebay to have thier cylinder head reconditioned, looks a good buy, but am weary of sending off my cylinder head to a un-known company.

I find with things like this you have to trust the guy/company doing the work. As such Id be looking for someone reputable (and preferably local) to do it for you.

You need to establish exactly how they are going to recon the head - that link doesn't give any detail.

 

They should start by cleaning it, pressure testing it to ensure there are no cracks, check for excessive corrosion, face it, re-cut the valve seats, measure and replace any worn or damaged guides, replace any damaged valves and damaged/broken studs.
