Quick Sunroof Question

Recommended Posts

gazmk2

Hi guys! recent ex-vag convert here! have to say i'm loving the 205 experience!! Quick question, are all the 205 sunroofs suppose to have that weird vacuum seal type thing? only asking as mine (a 1989 F 1.9) doesn't hiss or anything before opening. I just press the clip to release and it slides back and it doesn't leak.

Thanks

Gary

This has been covered a few times. Chances are you have an aftermarket design, probably a Britax as they seemed the most popluar at the time. The Pug standard items all have the vacuum seal.

Either that or the pipe for the seal has come off the little tee piece to the brake sevo.

If it's stiff to open and your brakes are fine it's usually the case.

The seal inflates under normal atmospheric pressure so if it's not connected it wont leak.

When you pull the lever down all the air is sucked out of the seal by the servo so you can slide the sunroof open over the seal.
