sam jfm 0 Posted October 13, 2009 Right time to explain! i have a set of hi-spec 4 pots with 285mm discs, they will not fit under a 14" wheel and i want to make them! The calipers are radial so that part wont be a problem, but i need to find a disc to use. i have though about using alloy bells and discs but its not easy getting hold of the bells! so i when i saw this http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info....roducts_id=6615 i wondered if any of the discs listed have the correct offset? i recon i will need to knock the disc size down to around 280 to get them to clear! so bells and discs would be best if you know where to get some from! Oh and the hi spec discs are 20mm wide CHeers sam
Cloverleaf 1 Posted October 13, 2009 Rally design have all you need. Order a catalogue, it's a lot easier to read then their site! http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/index.php?cPath=562_579 Are you sure an extra 2.5mm of radial clearance will be enough?!
sam jfm 0 Posted October 13, 2009 tbh no im not, i may have to go down 15mm to give me 7.5 mm of clearance. how do those uni bells work?
welshpug 1,645 Posted October 13, 2009 106 CUP cars used 270mm discs under a 14" wheel. For a cheap off the shelf solution you could use standard 266mm 306 discs and get the radial bracket adjusted to suit. Bells and discs are available from Compbrake, don't know where else, would think the 106 CUP car discs wouldn't be cheap, they were just cast iron discs as per standard but in a special size AFAIK. 205 bells and discs - http://compbrake.co.uk/shop/product_info.p...products_id=111 doesnt say size though DOH! could ask for the bells and discs from this 106 14" wheel brake kit http://compbrake.co.uk/shop/product_info.p...;products_id=22 might be too thick for your calipers though. welshpug 1,645 Posted October 13, 2009 those uni bells look a pretty good idea, they have the bolt circle for the bells already drilled, and made to accommodate an offset range, you get them machined to suit your hub's centre bore, wheelbolt PCD, and whatever offset you need. they do a 19.6mm 266 diameter disc too. http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info....oducts_id=10022
