Be1 To Be3 With Rose Jointed Linkage

Just swapped my internals over to other type casing, how do you fit the rose jointed gear rods to the cranked lever on the box, do you cut it off then drill and tap it or what?

Think on mine the ball was cut off, then drilled and a stud welded in place.

All done ,cut off ball ,drilled and tapped ,and Ht cap screw fitted in hole. I thought the arm was going to be hardend, but was simples.
