Solid Rear Mounts & Road Rally's

Recommended Posts

Jose

Hi,

I have just recived my refurbed rear beam and im thinking of fitting the GrpA Solid mount kit,

Im going to be using the car for Autosolos track days but also Road Rallies

Do people run the solid mounts for road rallies and have they had any issues with them being solid?

Regards

Jose

The only issue i have found is that more impact force is transmitted to the mounting brackets. There was a thread on this some time back , showing stress fractures of the brackets .

Solid rear mounts are an absolute 'MUST HAVE' if you want decent handling as the rear end is so unpredictable without them, we use them in the forests and there is a massive difference in handling between standard rubber mountings and solid alloy ones. I remember thinking why the hell I hadn't changed them sooner when I first drove the car after fitting them!

Personally I would never in a million years fit rubber rear mounts to a 205 again.
