Horn Stopped Working

Recommended Posts

feb

Hi,

My other half just told me that the horn in the 205 has stopped working. I had it replaced 3 years ago with an electric one (new) from a 1.6

Any hints as to where she can start looking at?

Cheers ;)

i'm sure this has been covered many a time, but rather than telling you to do a search,

I would suggest that a couple of quick checks would be to get a multimeter and check that you have power to the horn. If you have, then check the earth. If this is ok then it may well be duff.

Also check the fuse

If you haven't got power at the horn then you may have a break in the wiring or a fault with the stalk.

Cheers Chris.

The first 2 checks I would do would be to connect the horn directly to the battery to make sure its working and (as above) check there is power at the horn (using a multimeter or a spare bulb, I have a spare interior light just for checking things like this).

If the horn is fubar, replace it with a Steibel Nautilus. No more puny farting sounds with one of those bad boys!
