Annoying Stutter

Recommended Posts

Guest TT300

Hi all,

I've nearly got my 1.9 gti running spot on apart from a very annoying stutter which is more apparent higher in the rev range. It just cuts out for a second or so. It likes to do it even more when at the track which is great! Its almost asif its running out of power and strugling also.

Does anyone have anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Sam

One of the guys at my work has a seriously annoying stutter. Worse if he's stressed or getting pissed off. He's a company director so it's got to be oh so embarassing for him. Would feel sorry but being honest he's a c*nt.

Back to your 205, you got more of a description about when it does it? Through the entire rev range then worse when high up?

First port of call for me would be swap out the ignition amp for a known good one, check connections to coil and engine earths. HTH!

Check the lead to the AFM is connected properly? Had a similar problem recently and fixing it really was as simple as that.

 He'd be annoying even without his stutter. :P

On point, does it happen at the same rev value? I had a problem with a brief cut at about the same revs every time. Turned out to be a faulty ECU having tried everything else.
