Fuse Board

Recommended Posts

i have been meaning to sort out my heat rear window for the winter for ages now and got round to it on sunday (after fixing the lovely ma gearbox!!) to find that there was no permanant live to the heated rear window relay,

(well there was 12v but wouldnt even light up a 5w bulb so high resistance)

and i think it might be the fuse circuit board, could see a bit of greeny blue blob in ther so i think the "tracks" going to the relay in the fuse/relay board are fooked!

so would u just soilder a wire directly to the relay then to 12v OR put a new fuse board in there, but im not sure all fuse boards are the same tho ???? any sugesstions would be great!!!

Probably easier to replace it. If there's a problem in one place then there may well be problems elsewhere too.

I'm pretty sure all 205 and 309 fuseboards are the same.

they aren't all the same, there's a difference between early ones and later cars though I can't find reference to when the changes were made.

they do have coloured dots next to each socket though, so fitting the plugs back in is fairly straightforward.

Glad to hear u got it all sorted. Just wanted to echo Welshpug's sentiments. Not all fuseboards are the same. They appear the same, but there seem to be at least three different ones, wired differently internally. There's an early type like around '85, '86, then two later ones. Not sure on when the other boards were introduced.
