Gsf: Order Girling Receive Bendix...

Yesterday, after much research on here and in the haynes manual, I was delighted to have ordered the correct wheel cylinders for my STDT. The car has the Bendix front calipers and Girling rear cylinders , as the 1.6GTi.

 

The GSF website states T65410 WHEEL CYLINDER 205 GTi&TD GIRLING SYS

 

Imagine my horror when they turn up as 2x 1.9 Bendix cylinders!

The part number T65410 is identical on the invoice, although the description now only says 'WHEEL CYLINDER' - no mention of Girling.

 

Have I ordered the wrong part or is this a mistake?

Cheers gents - have just called them, It was their mistake. welshpug is correct Girling sticker on a Bendix box!

Correct ones are on their way.

Doesn't the 1.9 Diesel have drums?

Both my old & jimistdt's cars had Bendix rear brakes.

 

The one on the left in your picture is a girling which is specific to the 1.6 GTI where the STDT's have base model / XS spec rear brakes & beam.

 

Easily identifiied by the different size union going into the cylinder, M10 x 1 on griling (10mm spanner) & M12 x 1 on the Bendix (13mm spanner)
