Webber Twin 40s Fuel Filter ?

My car was fitted with webber carbs by the previous owner and he has removed the standard fuel filter and i was wondering if the carbs have a filter / gauze internally that i can clean out because if not i should realy fit a filter of some sort

Would fit a fuel filter anyway, as the gauze on carbs can get blocked quite quickly with an old car, and first time you realise is when it det's to hell and back on wide open throttle.

 

Clear fuel filter you can inspect "at a glance" is a good idea.
