Is this gearbox anything good regarding its ratios.

depends what you want it to be good for

 

couple of different final drives shown,

 

4.52 ( 17 x 77 )

4.42 ( 14 x 62 )

3.94 ( 19 x 75 )

3.78 ( 19 x 72 )

 

I think 1st gear on all of them is quite short, most of the ratios lean towards a cruising box than a sports one.

final drive may be of use, get the code off it, or even the VIN of the car if possible.

I've got a 3.94 final drive in the garage that came from a 306 1.8 16v gearbox, which ties in with Mei's info above

 

Miles had the rest of the gearbox, so he maybe able to confirm the actual ratios the box had.

I think he took the good syncro's off and round filed the rest (bar the Be4 casing)
