Removing Under Bonnet Insulation

Recommended Posts

What's the best way of removing the foam on the underside of a 309 bonnet (Iassume the 205 has the same stuff?)

A jet wash removed some of it but the adhesive and a small layer of foam still remains.

we have a strange type of carpet that is glued on.

would imagine that something like a plastic spatula will get most of the rest off, except where it's glued on, then you need something to lift the glue without lifting the paint.

205s have a thin sheet of black fibre almost like card just riveted to the underside.

I had to take mine off when I fitted a strutbrace as it was pushing the bonnet up a bit.

Are they Rivets holding it on or plastic clips?
