Mi16 Making Lots Of Power... But Low Down!

Funnily enough my Mi16 is plenty powerful for the shell, but, it's making all its power low down, ie. between 2k rpm and 3k rpm, and no, the rev counter isn't malfunctioning

 

Any ideas?

cam timing most likely, unless its not getting enough fuel at higher RPM?

That would be my guess too. I'm going to get a Peugeot mech to have a look at it and set the timing belt tensioners properly on Saturday. It's also surprisingly noisy and there's an annoying rattle from the head, possibly to do with me having to Dremel one of the cam bucket holes...

agreed get the cam covers off and check the dowls line up
