205 Turbo D Brake Options

Recommended Posts

for my gf's car she wants to uprate the brakes as they cook somtimes.

its a d turbo and has the proper gti style wishbones etc.

will it have 1.6 hubs? or basic hubs?

it somes with solid discs at the front with basicly a 1.6gti caliper with the shorter yoke for the solid disc.

can i just put the wider 1.6 yoke on with 1.6 vented discs? as i have a few 1.6 calipers lying around.

ive read about using the 1.6 caliper with the 1.9 disc on here. is this for base modle hubs? and there fore if it (the d turbo) has base modle hubs will i need 1.9 discs?

dont wana go down 266mm road as i have everything else here and her calpiers are nearly new.

basicly i think i need to know what hubs i have and how do i check?

thanks

edit: oh and whats the difrence between 1.6 and 1.9 disc?

aye 1.9 discs and 1.6 calipers jim, there is no yoke for the bendix calipers they should just bolt straight on :)

well its not a sliding yoke its just the bit that holds the pads. not sure what its called but it can be unbolted from the caliper and changed for the wider ones i have to acept vented discs, i could just swap them over but the calipers on her car are nearly new, so want to keep them.

dose anyone know the difrence in size between 1.6 & 1.9 discs or are they just difrent offsets?
