Recommended Posts

floodys

i think my throttle body is worn, i notice when i drive it at say 75 and hold it there it holds back a bit etc, and hesitates. any ideas if i can "fix" it or get it fixed as i would guess that you cant buy new ones these days and if i can it would costa fortune!!

I heard one method of fixing it is getting rid of it all together and going for throttle bodies.

Sounds like mine was before I cleaned the injectors.

I've had new bushes and the throttle spindles machined to suit as there was play and the throttle quandrant could be waggled affecting the idle speed.

If there is slight hesitency there, try looking at the CAS. I had a similar problem earlier this year and was convinced it was the throttle butterflies. It turns out the CAS was the issue!

If you are convinced that it is the butterflies, there are definately a few threads on getting new spindles engineered. (sorry, don't know where they are though ;) )
