pablo 0 Posted September 18, 2009 Right ok, I think my turbo gti has a PAS rack but no PAS pump. As the steering is crazy heavy at low speeds. - any telltale signs that my rack is a PAS one? Presumably it would have pipes coming out of it, or at least blanks for them. - are pas and non pas racks interchangable? As there is a good non pas rack for sale Id buy if they were. Tom Fenton 1,536 Posted September 18, 2009 They are interchangable, however the lower steering column is different between PAS and non-PAS, and also different between early-non-PAS and late-non-PAS.
