Alloy Belled Discs

Recommended Posts

projectpug

Hi all ,

I am using a setup on my 205 which uses the 307 discs as stated in the topic description. I am wondering if alloy belled were available because they weigh in at 14.5lb, 5.25lb more than the original 205 gti 1.9 247mm disc. Does anyone want to have a guess at how much the alloy belled 307 disc weigh(hopefully similar to the 247mm).

Thanks

Phil

I don't know if anybody will make a disc specifically for the 307, but you will probably be able to find a disc of suitable size and an alloy bell of suitable offset / PCD. Have a look on Rally Design's website under braking.

~3.75Kg per side for mine, although I'd expect another couple of kilos for a normal set from rallydesign, etc.

Are they in production now rippthrough?

I couldnt find any disks 283 * 22mm nearest was 283 * 24mm not sure if theres room for them in the caliper? The other problem i can see is the offset on the disk as the front face of the disk is very close to the back face that sits on the hub so i think you may need a thick bell to keep the offset correct and make it strong?

Both!

No, not in production yet, should be over the winter when the new workshops finally get finished though.

The 307 2.0hdi is iirc 283mm diameter, 34 height , 26 thickness .

DJ are you referring to 306 gti6 discs?

Interesting.. I might well have a set off you, although they won't be in 307 size as they'll have to fit under 14" with whatever calipers I end up using.
