Distributor Query

Recommended Posts

CaptainP

After a series of process & elimination I've found that my VAC unit on the distributor is faulty. I have another distributor here with a working VAC unit on it, so I was hoping to put the whole thing on my car. The only problem is that it has a different signal connector than the one I have fitted (mine presses into the distributor and the spare screws onto a clip. Both have clip on style distributor caps so leads should be fine, just a bit concerned that with a different lead it may not be compatible with the other ignition components.

I also thought about just swapping VAC units but after reading Damir's guide I don't fancy it.... Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks Meirion, just a quick check. My current distributor is 0237009076 & my replacement is 0237009063 do you think they use the same distributor cap before I whip it off? Here's a pic of my old distributor cap (clip on).

Ignore the above, checked on Servicebox, seems okay.
