Road Legal Schlicks

hi all, how low do you chaps run the tread on your road legal slicks, obviously they aren't road legal after they reach the wear bars but do they retain there adhesiveness untill they're bald?

I ask because ive been offered a job lot of dunlop d01s for very little money, all of which are worn to just above the legal limit. i'm hoping they will be of some use for trackdays still but I thought i'd ask you lot what you think. cheers allan

I think the sticky part of the thread carries on just past the wear blocks for safety, so they should be ok.

Seen them worn down to the threads tbh - no deterioration in performance till there is sod all left.

 

Obviously you wouldn't want to get them down that low though, so dangerous. We've had a car on AO48s come off a stage with nothing at all left in places, he only noticed the grip loss right near the end of the stage.
