Gti6 With No Lambda

Recommended Posts

ok ive done a gti6 conversion however at the moment theres no exhaust only a manifold (very loud) and the lambda is just sat hanging in fresh air. The engine idles fine however occasionally it almost sounds like it starts missing and then the revs jump up to about 2k and it stops, it also occasionally cuts out, is this all going to be dwn to lamda sensor, its getting warm etc but obviously its only sniffings at fresh air.

just wanted to confirm if these irregularities in engine behavior would be dwn to this.

Unplug it. If it still does it, rule out lambda sensor. But I would imagine it is as it won't have a clue whats going on... So yeah, unplug, reset your ecu and check everything runs as it should

It should run fine with the Lambda, I do all of mine without it and drive them to my exhaust man.

hmm maybe the random miss fire sound is actually just the lack of any exhaust , it will idle for probably 10 mins and then cut out, and occasionly the revs will begin to drop and then you hear the engine rev back up.

Miles, don't you mean withOUT the lambda? Or have you had them plugged in niffing fresh air?

That will obviously cause problems, to me, it's an o2 sensor, and as you can imagine DJ there is a lot more o2 in the atmosphere than there is coming out of your exhaust...

Have you checked your stepper? Give it a clean
