Gearbox Linkage

Recommended Posts

Got the gearbox linkages with the clips on that prevent the socket from popping of the ball but they are incredibly squeaky, i mean really irritating. I have cleaned them and left them dry and tried them, greased them and tired them but got issues in trying to keep them lubricated :o

Anyone else had this problem and been able to cure it??

Always just stuck a bit of grease on the inside of the cup before fitting and so far no problems at all.

Did you use some Moly-grease? Should cope better with the heat etc. All mine seem fine, i do tend to re-grease them on occasion though, more due to the cars coming back apart rather than needing to though!!

Which one's are they?

Only reason I ask is that I've got a car here with some Constella one's (I think as they are alloy) and they rattle due to only having one clip on them,

The ball I supply with my rods have a retaining clip inside which locates over the ball as well to help keep this noise down.

Miles don't know what manufacturer they are as they came with the car, they do have one clip on them, i'll try the molyslip grease first but if this doesn't work i'll contact you.
