Fuel Mixture Problems..i Think?

i got my 205gti on the road yesterday and it seems to have a missfire...well a studder and it jerks at low revs. It doesnt idle aswell. Now iknow the idle mixture screw is despreatly out and so is the idle..does anyone know the factory settings for them?

On all my used and spare AFM's the mixture screws are set 7 to 8 turns out from fully inside .. so id say that's a basic setting .. at least this adjustment was always good during emission test at the MOT i always passed without problems

 

If it's sluggish/jerky low down try by advancing the ignition timing a few deg. , then reset the idle speed with big brass screw on the TB ..

hi, the haynes manual from what i can tell says the mixture screw was the big brass screw on the tb, were are the mixture screws located?

Big brass screw on the throttle body is for idle speed correction :) (air bypass screw) , for idle air/fuel mixture adjusting you'll see an allen head screw on the AFM body (turn him fully inside and then out 7 to 8 turns .. stop there)
