Quick Question... Gti Wheels On Diesel

Recommended Posts

dee205

As title.

Will 1.9 GTi wheels fit onto a diesel without any problems? ANy issues with rubbing etc and is it the GTi bolts I use?

Don't want to spend half an hour changing them if it's not gonna work.

Damien

They'll fit, but it will look like a tractor. You may have issues with the rears scrubbing if you have missing bumpstops or your mates are fat.

Not a good idea then.

I've had 1.9 wheels on my STDT for years and never had any problems. With four people in the car never had any tyre scrubbing. Does sit quite high but in a good quirky sort of way (!) but thats an issue that I hope to remedy quite soon.

i had the 1.9s on a stdt lowerd 40mm but the stdt uses the gti shell all the other diesels use the basic shell.

my misses has 1.6 wheels on her d turbo 5dr lowerd about 50mm and no problems. (althoe i did a bit of arch work on it im sure)
