Cam Locater Bracket

Do you need this fitted in the XU10 8v head?!

 

I have a catcam fitted which was first fitted in my XU9 8v head with this little horse shoe shaped cam locater bracket in place and now the new XU10 head has come back with the same catcam fitted but without the locator bracket fitted even though it has placing and bolt hole to fit one?! Matt at QEP is away at the moment so cant call him to check

 

should i fit it or not?!

depends whether the cam locates itself like most later engines.

the fact that the cam has a slot for it to sit and the head has a bolt hole for it to fit im thinking i might aswel put it in

They cater for both early and later heads, no you won't need it.

Id see if theres any in and out movement of the cam (by lightly levering between the head and pulley) if theres not then you dont need it
