Head Torque Setting

jus a quickie, about to torque down my new head but thought I'd check torque settings, I've always simply done 25 then 50 then finish at 75 lb ft

 

Will be running 11.2:1 Cr if that makes a difference and its my hillclimb engine so will be run hard, oh and std gasket

Using the standard torque figures should be fine for any engine whatever the compression imo.

 

Increasing the torque can over stretch the bolts & weaken them making them more likely to snap or strip the threads in the head.
