yeah that's what I've been looking for to do for my wife but I can't get any diesel autobox, so unfortunately it will be manual.

Plenty of choice if you need a car to get an auto box from for that. Not just 205, but 306/405 and the Citroen variants too.

My grandad bought a brand new white Citroen BX non turbo diesel automatic in 1990. It was a hateful device in my opinion, he liked it though as it did lots of MPG and he didn't have to change gear.

Use the box that's on it already. I've been running an 8v turbo for the last year with the original autobox and it's still working fine. The only modification i made was to use an oil cooler for the box rather than keep the standard fluid cooler.

The problem is that it's actually the gearbox that is faulty.

Do you know what the fault is? You are welcome to my Gentry autobox now mine is manual.
