Tensioner Tool

Hi guys

 

I have seen alot of topics about tensioning the cambelt and have done mine as descibed and done the 90 degree twist test etc.

 

However it just doesnt seem that accurate. I have seen there are some of the tools around for £50 or so. Im thinkin id be pissed off if the belt snapped for the sake of a £50 tool.

 

Has anyone used these? good bad etc?

the 90deg rule is fine, you can have the belt extremely tight and it won't snap you just get mega noisey tentioners and water pump, I wouldn't waste the money.

if you're worried, do it up tight, if you find it whines, loosen it off ever so slightly and just repeat a couple of times till the whine disappears
