Useful Xu10j4r Bits

I have just been offered one of these with what a believe to be very low miles/ fully rebuilt for a nominal fee. It's the iron block which I believe is the same as the GTI-6, with a smaller port head and slightly lower CR and the same rods and crank as the GTI-6. Can anybody confirm this for me or are they completely different internals? Also the sump looks very similar to the GTI-6 as well, would this still be a trap door jobby? I might have it and break it and sell the components if their condition is as good as I believe, alternatively it could be a prime candidate for a homebrew supercharger job if it's strong enough!

Cheers

Much the same as the GTi6 really. I believe the pistons have a deeper dish than the '6 items which accounts for some of the reduced compression ratio, and the head naturally has smaller ports and I think doesn't have the spray bars of the '6. I'm not sure on the rods & crank, I think the crank at least is the same but no doubt someone else will confirm that. The sump and other oil related bits like the pump are the same, so yes it should be the trap door jobby.

oh, and PM coming your way about parts, should you break it :)

crank and block the same as the 6, head I think has been mentioned to be fairly close to the Mi16, compression is the same as the Mi16.
