Removing Injectors

Recommended Posts

DooBeDooBeDo

I want to take my injectors out for a clean, and clean the manifold inside and out. I've undone the fuel rail and removed the clips.

Should the rail just pull off the injectors? - Likewise should the injectors just pull out of the manifold? I hope I'm not being dumb, but I don't want to break anything.

While I've got everything apart I want to clean it all up as much as possible. Everything is currently covered in oil and crap from the old engine...

With all the bolts and clips removed that it should just pull out. They tend to be VERY tight though.

Open ended spanner and gently "pry" them out - as said, they can be very stiff.

O rings are stupid money from Peugeot - whoever is cleaning injectors should be able to supply replacements for a few pence each. IIRC Peugeot want £3 each ring.

sideways danny

spray wd40 or similar on the o-rings and it'll help things slip apart

They came out of the manifold quite easily in the end just using gentle leverage with a 16mm spanner.
