Exhaust Wrap Properties

Hi all,

 

I have been wondering, if I used exhaust wrap on boost/intake pipes would it insulate them and keep the pipework cooler than normal?

Cheers for the link, should of guessed that Autospeed would have tried it out. I had covered the upper boost pipes on my last car but had no way of measuring the difference.

I used standard black exhaust wrap which followed the bends in the pipework quite well but I was not sure if it would absorb the surrounding heat too.
