Any Definate Way To Test Ig Amp, Afm Etc

i always see problems with ignition amps, AFM's etc i know in haynes manual they say about checking ohm's etc but if the car runs and has problem's how can one tell for definate the part is breaking down or knackered?? i have running roblems with my mi and i have 3 or 4 of ig amps, same again of coolant temp switch's, is there any point on holding on to them if i wont ever know if they are good or bad!!

Take them to a garage and sweet talk them, they might be able to test them for you with a proper tester.

If you have several spares, surely you could try each one in turn for a while....it is surely unlikely that they are all faulty, and even if they are, that the faults are identical. Otherwise get someone whose car runs fine to let you try yours on their car.
