[engine_work] Daviewonders Laser Green 205

Another small update.

The ride height's now been adjusted, the grille fitted and the bumper Plasticared. I also decided the mixture of budget tyres that were fitted wouldn't do, so I treated it to 4 new proxes. The cars now sporting a set of Graphite grey wheels which I think go pretty nice with the green.

I got an classic insurance quote, all mods declared from Heritage. I was more than pleased with it as it's £100 cheaper than I'm paying for my standard Cherry red 1.6

It's now ready for its MOT and it's booked in for 9.45 on Saturday.

Fingers crossed

Cheers. Go well is a slight understatement  I don't understand why I keep reading that 2.0 turbo engines ain't all that?

Cheers Gary. It turned out to be a small amount of air needing to be blead out of one side of one of the front calipers. The headlight issue was down to the earth plug not being pushed quite home. The mot tester said he reconed it was air in the caliper as everything else was new. He would have had a go at sorting the issues but he was alone at the garage as no one else bothered to turn up today! He even had to ring me to get me to come back so I could sit in the car while he tested it. Lucky I have a great boss who let me leave work for half an hour to do so :)

Retest on Monday morning then the car will have to sit unused until Friday when I tax it.

I think a mini meet might be in order soon Gary if your up for it?

I dont understand why they get slated either. With just the boost turned up it would embarrass the odd evo and scooby.

I have fully forged engine waiting to go into mine now, Just have to finalise a deal for a gt28 turbo and a dp love collecter manifold and then it will be a monster :)

Failed again.

The brakes were even worse now I've bled them, but the headlight passed this time

I stripped the pads out tonight and gave everything a clean, found one of the pistons was a bit tight so I took it out and gave it a good clean up and re-lubed it.

Another retest tomorrow ^_^

oh dear mate, what's happened?

It happened during a spirited drive on the way to the cinema with a few mates. It was just after taking a long lefthand bend rather quickly, It lost a fair bit of power and the bottom end started to knock rather loudly, I'm guessing oil starvation?

I've ordered new big ends and mains today but they're taking a week to come in, looks like I'm back in the Coupe for now.

On the plus side at least I'll get to paint the engine bay while the engines out :)

Ha ha, yeah by that point there was no way I was going to drive round looking for a parking space, it got abandoned on the pavement to think about what it had done <_<

Cheers for the link but I'll have a go at rebuilding mine, what doesn't kill it will only make it stronger
