Treating The Underside Of My Car

Recommended Posts

djinuk

I know there is lots of threads on this however i wanted to do one more to find out if my method sounds ok for the underside of my pug.

Plan is to get the car as high up as possible, remove the rear beam and tank, attack underside with wirebrush attachments etc, weld where needed and anywhere thats been welded , hammerite and seam seal, I plan to use one of the frost products for the areas of bad rust (give me some names and links please) and then i was going to blast the whole underside with a black shuts as this is the o/e finish and therefore i trust it  any advice on this method would be appreciated, what my pug minty fresh and to last another 20 years.

I though that it is best to rust treat it then seal the welded areas then paint over it all, bit like original..

wasnt really sure if you are meant to use the rust treatment on areas welded, presumed they were rust converters to some degree. Its strange because all local bodyshops laugh when a rust treatment is mentioned, they just say cut the section out, reweld section in and fill/paint :S

I know the family who run this company and they really know their stuff when it comes to these paints.

They are featured in this months PPC rust proofing guide.

Pasta or Rice EVO?

ie Lancia or Mitsu'?

Looks like a lancia panel to me. . . . . .

I'll second that, hammerite is good for your granny garden bench. Etch primer and then shutz type stuff. Dinitrol is good, not used it tho

I mentioned this topic to him and he said that they were looking to do group buys with various car forums. So i've sent this link to him and hopefully he'll be on here soon so something can be arranged.
