Fitting Electric Windows And Central Locking Into A Xs

Recommended Posts

Has anybody looked into fitting the 205 gti central locking and electric windows directly into a 205 xs, also any idea if the loom from a gti at some point would unplug and connect into the already existing 205 xs loom?

my XS already had all the conections in the main harness to plug central locking and lecy windows into all you have to do is buy the solonoids, window motors and door looms, even if your loom doesnot have the conections (i cant see why!) a gti loom will plug straight in.

Depends on the year of your car. Things are easy if you have the 91 on cars with the detachable door looms (though finding looms is not as easy as you think!)

Earlier models had a rubber flex on the A pillar and you need to run wires through. I have fitted this to two non GTI's and have used trailerboard wire as a simple cross car loom and mated it to the fusebox in the right connections. However my 93 CTI just had the screw in looms so it was easier (as long as you have the right 2 pin drivers CL motor if your car has not got a PLIP)

You will need relays too
