Front Spring Identification Help Please

Recommended Posts

Can anyone ID me these springs I got with a 205 project car. They are maroon in colour and have the markings JAE and VDF VA 950101 on them. Free length of 11 inch and made from 0.5 inch wire 130mm internal diameter. I'm pretty certain they're 205 items but have no idea as to poundage or ride height so if anyone could throw any light on them I'd be grateful.

funnily enough, the first google result for "VDF VA 950101" is the TUV papers for those springs, did you try google? B)

Maker is VDF Vogtland GMBH, they're standard diameter 12.5mm thick coil 30mm drop, unsure what the actual spring rate would be, but the number of coils is 5.5 and free length is 282mm, I think if you ask Phill (Rippthrough) he'd be able to give you a vague approximation of the rate.

third result was a discussion on the Rallye Register, from which you learn that they're commonly supplied With koni dampers as they dont make springs themselves
