Advice For Mechanical Oil And Water Gauges

Hi,

 

Looking to move to mechanical oil pressure and water temp gauges - has anyone done this and what suggestions recommendations for parts , does anyone sell a bag of the correct bits

I got mine from Think Auto I think it was,

 

On my Mi Alloy block I used a 0-100psi black Mocal oil pressure gauge, I ‘think’ it was M10 x 1.0 male to M10 x 1.0 female with a 1.8bsp take off for the oil line to the gauge. You can get M10 x 1.0 taper and parallel, I think they sent taper but it sealed ok.

 

I can dig the part numbers out if you like over the w/e. You could probably just give them a call and order it. Probably slightly cheaper off the web but they know their stuff and service is good

The oil line I had was a 1/8" NPT so I need to hook up the 1/8" BSP on the T piece:-

 

ADP-1/8NPT Adaptor 1/8" NPT to 1/8" BSP (male/male) £1.95

M-OPG100 Mocal Oil Pressure Gauge 100psi £26.98

TP-M10X1 T Piece M10 x 1 Taper £6.25

 

I had the oil line already, but the gauge doesn't come with one (some gauges do tho I think)

Really the Pug should use a parallel thread with a sealing ring, but the taper one (which from memory was only tapered on the Male side, not the female). I think they do the parallel type too.
