When buying a replacement thermoswitch, where is the preferred place to buy?

 

I bought a replacement from GSF a few months ago and have just got round to fitting it. It kicks in far too high, and never turns off. I've shorted the test lead and the fans work correctly. So must be the switch.

 

I thought there were several different switches available but GSF apparently only stock the one for all 205s/309s/306s etc.

 

The old 205 one has a red band on it, and I'm sure this new one had a purple one on before it fell off.

The purple banded ones that I've had have quite a low switching point - fan is on about halfway on the gauge.

 

Could get one from Peugeot? There's loads of different ones listed on Servicebox, with various different switching temperatures.

Got a new switch from GSF, but this time it was a red banded one made by FAI.

 

All sorted now.....ta
