Gti6 Fuel Rail

I've used 8mm ID fuel hose from a 106 filter to the gti6 feed on the fuel rail, but every so often on start up from cold, it starts weeping. This is despite using two fuel hose clips. Clearly they are not sealing properly - anyone got any suggestions on how to achieve this?

 

I'm thinking maybe I should go back and use the original hose that goes to the feed rail - the small length of rubber hose with the 90 deg plastic bend coming off it. This plastic "bend" (with barbed ends on it I think) then goes to another rubber hose of a slightly smaller diameter. Does anyone know what the correct ID of this smaller hose is?

 

Also, how is the original hose secured on to the feed rail?
