Which Ht Leads Do I Want For My Mi16 Dizzy Conversion

Recommended Posts

axnutty

I'm about to order a set of the longer ht leads required when running an mi16 engine on a dizzy conversion. Looking at pugspares shiny new website there are 3 types available.

8mm 205

8.5mm 205

8mm 309

Now the 309 ones are much cheaper. But surely I could just use them anyway? Why would it matter?

Also 8mm or 8.5mm? I'm guessing 8.5mm is better, yet they're quoted as high performance items and the 8mm ones as competition grade???

So really which ones do I want?

Just phoned my local autoelectricians. They said not a problem at all, happy to make any lead, any connectors any size.

Given I can just shuffle the existing leads down a plug, ie pluglead 2 to plug 1, pluglead 3 to plug 2 etc. I only need 1 extra lead making to reach plug 4 id have thought? Which on the face of it seems like its going to be a much cheaper option...

I shall update my findings later in week hopefully...

Ive noticed that pugspares charge higher amounts for 205 engine parts than they do 309 ones, surley theres no difference as they both use the same engine parts from new? are they just ripping off us 205 drivers?

In the past ive bought a new set of 8v leads and just re-terminated the plug ends using the old mi motronic leads, never had any problems.
