depends how tight its been done up, you can often just lift the cage and unhook it.

I used to get a big spanner and put it into the cut out, then angle the spanner at about 45 degrees from the horizontal/vertical, so it was nice and snug in the cut out, then just twist the spanner.

I can't undo the one on my 405 for love nor money.

 

Has been done up very tight with no wheel in and then rusted solid. :(

Angle grinder if rusted up :)

 

Trolley jack under the frame and lift it up if its not rusted and you don't want to ruin the cage etc :)

Another for trolly jack!

If there's air in the tyre it should squash enough for the cage to go over the hook.

I do it this way every time now, it's much quicker!

Spray some WD40 into the hook end, and get some mole grips round the bolt. Unless of course you don't want to ruin the thread.
