Before I start, 1000 apologies - I know this is a common topic in any car forum and I have done a search.

Basically I'm being a total tart: I'd like a rortier sounding exhaust that still looks standard. I'd identified DES as the suppliers of choice and then they decided to cease trading. I know I'm not the only one asking what's the next best option, but I can't seem to find an answer that doesn't involve a big pipe sticking out the back of the car.

Any suggestions? What about removing the centre silencer and replacing it with a standard pipe from an XS?

Yes - I reiterate I am being a total chav on this. There is nothing wrong with my current exhaust. I expect zero performance gains, I just want a bit of aural excitement.

Thanks dudes.

P.S. spec of the car below in my signature. Already got a K&N cone filter.

XS centre section is smaller bore iirc.

Tbh some std GTi systems are fairly throaty, mine's a fairly nice sound without being too intrusive, around 90db's, & is louder than my old 1.9 with a full Magnex & 4branch! <_<

Miles can supply some nice sounding systems :(

I second that, just got one 2 1/2" mild steel all the way with a fairly subtle chrome end on it, sound great, real growl but not excessively loud, but he will make you what you want!

I had an OMP group N on mine before the turbo engine, that was nice and raspy sounding and with a smallish tailpipe (2" I think) they are also pretty cheap I think, but make sure you get the twin box as mine was loud enough so can't imagine what a single box one will have been like.

The build quality isn't ace but I just painted a bit of thick grease around the bits that were beginning to rust and it was fine for 2 years and then I still sold it for £50!
