Broke My Bl**dy Throttle Cable

Recommended Posts

pugpete1108

whist testing the butterly opening today i heard a snap and thought i had snapped the cable, turns out its the white plastic bit on the end.

can anyone reccomend a decent upgrade or alternative to save this happening again? is there any decent universal kits available?

this is a bit of a poor type of fitting surely? were they upgraded on later models?

just fit a new cable kit, and make sure the pedal hits the bulkhead/stop at the same time as the throttle hits WO, rather than being under tension when the throttle itself hits the stop

oh right , never even looked under that area so didn't know there was a stop.

it broke though on half throttle, so i was assuming the cable end wasn't up to the job (and tbh i have some strong springs on the return so that might be the cause)

do you know how much the cables are from peugeot?

I fitted a universal kit this winter and it was damn cold and the little 'barbs' snapped off as i fitted it, the plastic is brittle. Luckily i had the old one intact which I guess is original PUG and it's a better quality plastic for sure,
