Recommended Posts

Please be patient as im not that clued up on cars ,

my question is when you do the filter behind the headlight conversion where do you put the little black box that was on like a metal cage at the front it has about 3 fuses in it. and the mass of wires it gets a bit tight there does it not with this mod

Has anyone got any pictures of their conversion i think ive done everything right and car seems fine just need a bit of reassurance

Unless you want to start pissing about with wiring, which I doubt you do, you are really limited by your current wiring. So it'll be all tangled up, and very inflexible, and just generally a right headache. So the best thing to do is to unbolt the box (tends to be referred to as the shunt box) and have a play about to see where you can move it to without straining the wires. Once you've got a position, have a think about how to fix it in place, and if it needs a bracket made up I'm sure there are plenty of people on here who could fabricate something for you very cheaply.

On mine I've bolted it to the front of the battery tray, so it kind of sits below the AFM with the top of the shunt box level with the battery tray. But that's only cos I made my own loom so I was able to stick it where I wanted, and already had a hole in the battery tray.

Just bend the bracket straight or get one from an earlier car that sits in line with the front panel.

Have a good look on your car though because some have a tab in the panel which the shunt box can be bolted to whch does away with the bracket.

There is an article about doing this conversion here.

Graham.
