My Bhp Results At Sbc

Recommended Posts

Took my mi with 45's in today at SBC to get paul to set up carbs etc since i fitted new tappets and a catcam inlet cam.Basically

the carbs and timing where way way out and fuel was mostly coming out of back end. The car feels sooo much quicker now

its fantastic, tickover is bit lump but he thought in future a set of verniers and maybe getting slightly more ignition advance as my dizzy wont go anymore

would make drivability slightly better. Doesnt seem that much difference since i fiited the cam to be honest looking at figures, first figures below are standard cam

but run was done in 3rd gear and todays run was done in 4th gear as it was trying to wheelspin.THe figure before he tinkered are pretty bad arent they.

No he didnt write any down for that RPM, maybe he didnt take it over that.I know people say there RR is a

bit optimistic but the car has only ever been on there one so least gave me an idea.

I wouldn't be worried about the actual figures, how does it drive?

It drives like a different carcompared to what its been like last few weeks. It just wants to rev like mad when you floor it.Sounds

like a nascar when revs get above 5500rpm thanks to carbs.

I took it up other week but my crank bolt slankened off resulting in lack of oil so just fitted new bigends and crank bolt

and just been taking it easy for few miles but was such a pain to drive as HC and COs where off the scale.Paul said HC are

still a touch high but thats down to the cam, wouldnt mind its only a stage one from QEP.Wonder what theyre more aggressive ones

are like.

Forgot to say 15% needs to be added to get flywheel BHP.

sideways danny

not bad at all!!

Difference between previous run and run before setup can be mostly explained by doing the earlier run in 3rd. It should always be done in 4th. A gearbox is a torque multiplier, 4th is 1:1 (or very close) is most cases. Running in 3rd will always without fail give a higher figure
