just pulled apart my 3rd beam now and they all have the same problem. the outer bearing has indented into the beam shaft. you can see where the bearings have been seated and the marks are quite deep about 1mm. is there anything i can do about this or do i keep buying beams untill i find a good one. idealy i would like to fit gti6 hubs and shafts but am having problems getting them

chances are most drivers side shafts will be excessively worn

are you saying that the passenger side is aswell?

if so, your best bet would be to contact miles on here, and get some brand new shafts

if you think about it, which side of the car carries more weight?

the shafts can be pressed out using a hydraulic press

one of which i have, and is the best money i've ever spent through ebay :)
